Not Every Weight Is on the Bar...

Today was leg day. Honestly, I had prepared my mind for it from yesterday itself. Because if you have ever trained legs, you know one thing your body starts complaining even before the first squat!
The three of us me, my trainer (who is also like a thambi), and another thambi started our workout together. Counting reps during leg day is almost impossible. Somewhere between pain, laughter, and "How many reps da?" we lose track every single time.
But today felt different.
In between sets, one of us stood quietly with folded hands. No jokes. No smile. Just silence. I looked at him and asked, "Enna da, everything okay?"
That's when he opened up.
He shared what he was going through. After listening to him, I found myself sharing my own struggles too. It reminded me that sometimes people don't need solutions. They just need someone who will listen without judging.
Many people think the gym is only for building muscles. I disagree.
For many boys, the gym is therapy. Those two hours are where they forget the noise of the outside world. Every lift carries a little stress away. Every drop of sweat washes away a little pain.
The funny part is that we are experts at motivating others. We say, "Don't worry," "Be strong," and "Everything will be okay." But when life tests us, following our own advice becomes the hardest workout of all.
Before we finished, I told him only one thing:
"Don't fight with your life. Just breathe. Take one step at a time. This too shall pass."
Our mind is smarter than we think. It knows how to create new thoughts, new hope, and new beginnings. The only thing it asks from us is acceptance.
So today, we didn't just train our legs. We trained our hearts too.
And if you're reading this while carrying a burden, remember: keep moving. One rep. One breath. One day at a time.
Because sometimes the strongest people are not the ones lifting the heaviest weights they are the ones silently lifting themselves every single day...
